Because I have heard a number of those voices and there's some cautious optimism (emphasis on the cautious) that the GPEW might have broken from its so-white-they're-transparent background and be embracing a broader sense of community.
Which, given the often-kinetic ways that English people view their Brown neighbours, as well as the alienation of the Labour party from Labour's traditional commitment to diversity, is probably very relevant here.
